The Imaginarium was an interactive science center featuring hands-on exhibits and activities in science, nature and technology for learners of all ages. Our museum was a community project of the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools office. We were proud of the programs we were able to bring to our community from special science exhibits to astronomy programs, science summer camp, magnetism workshops, virtual reality fieldtrips, and more. The Imaginarium was home to over 20 different hands-on science exhibits. Guests could have a hair-raising time at the Van De Graf Generator. They could shrink themselves in the Distorted Room, play mind games at the Color Wall or conduct electricity with their bare hands. The Imaginarium served children and adults of all ages. In addition to our permanent collection, the Imaginarium often hosted special exhibits and sponsored this Web site. As of November 2010, however, this Web site will nolonger be maintained.
